Vielen Dank für die Tipps. Jetzt läuft das X11 mit 1280x800 in 60Hz laut xrandr.

In der Config steht nun:

VertRefresh 60-72 ...

Es kann natürlich ein Bug in Xorg sein. Oder der interne Laptop-Monitor liefert über LVDS die falschen Frequenzen. Normalerweise fragt die Grafikkarte ja den Monitor, welche Frequenzen der Monitor kann.

Das ist mir jetzt vor Weihnachten erstmal egal.

Die standardmäßigen Bereiche sind doch etwas zu großzügig für meinen Laptop-Bildschirm. Wenn der Schirm immer wieder schwarz wird.
